Two pugs, two cats, two people and endless roads.
Answer to My Prayers
Saturday, 22 January 2011 16:14
I was listening to the game last week because one, I was at work; and two, I don't have TV anyway. I was just watching the action via GameTrax, which I heard Phil describe to his mother as Atari Football, but watching the little helmets march up and down a tiny football field wasn't very exhilarating. So I got a link online to WDVE, a Pittsburgh radio station that claims to be the Home of Steelers Football.
What an exciting game against the Ravens, huh? I was in the back room, stomping my feet, clapping, groaning in despair, and stomping on some Grand Canyon baseball caps with pictures of ravens on them.
It didn't look good for my team towards the end, so I had to pray to the football gods. And you don't get something for nothing from them, that's for sure, so I couldn't just ask for a win. I had to barter. I promised that if the Steelers pulled it off, I would buy a new Steelers sweatshirt. And we scored a touchdown! But we weren't out of the woods yet. So I had to pray again. This time it was Phil who would get the new sweatshirt (in addition to my new one). And we scored another touchdown! And we won!! And now we have new Steelers gear on the way. I just have to be careful what I promise tomorrow. I don't get paid for another two weeks.
