Workamping
Workamping
When most people think of Workamping, they may think of camp hosting or figure it describes
people both working and living at a campground. We have
a more liberal definition.
For us, workamping is any job that keeps us on the road.
Sometimes these are conventional workamping jobs like
working at a National Park, selling Christmas trees or harvesting
sugar beets. Other times our jobs are more of what you would thing of as a normal
job, like being a temporary office worker, doing consulting or running a
massage therapy practice.
To us they are all a means to an end - to keep us
traveling. Whatever your definition, workamping jobs are usually temporary, be it
seasonal or lasting the duration of your visit. Compensation can range from
full wages to a free campsite or anything in-between.
Here are some of our thoughts about workamping. Embedded
within will be some links to help others as they pursue this lifestyle. You can also read about our experiences workamping by selecting Workamping Reviews on the menu to the right or clicking here.

Fulltime RVing ( 8 items)

What exactly is full-time RVing? For us it is the "other" American Dream. Most people dream of the house with the white picket fence, a 9 to 5 corporate job, and a sense of permanence.
We were living that dream, but the "other" dream called to both of us. So we sold our house, quit our jobs, purchased a fifth-wheel trailer and a big truck to haul it and headed out on the road. Now our dream, that we find many other RVers share, is not to be tethered down by a single job or house or the "should dos." We want to be able to pick a point on the map and head off.
Below are links to stories about how we came up with this idea and resources that have helped us realize our dream. -
RVing With Pets ( 8 items)

For many people who like to go
camping or who are considering a full-time RVing lifestyle, concern for pets is a big deal. Just as in a
stationary home, our pets are part of our family. And we know that feeling is shared
by the thousands of full-time RVers who travel with their dogs, cats,
ferrets, sugar gliders, birds, snakes and lizards (hopefully not all in the same RV).
These articles are based on our experiences traveling with our pets. -
